NaNoWriMo:

This announcement is for all of the creative writers out there! It's also for the dreamers who dream of one day writing a book!
Did you know that November is NanoWrimo time? Well... It's almost National Novel Writing Month and we're planning PLANTOBER for October!
Each year over 100 Thousand youth under 18 write a novel by breaking the challenge down to smaller steps, one day at a time!
Who knows maybe just like them, you could also write a novel by the seat of your pants in just one month!
If you're interested in this idea, meet with Ms. Burke, Ms MacDougall and Mr. Jennings in the library at the start of lunch this (Thursday or Friday... Whatever we decide)
These fab teachers will break it down for you, track you and celebrate with you when it's all finished!
Possible ways to break it down:
Week 1-
Pen, paper, laptop?
Do you have a story idea (if no... Start brainstorming)
Are you a starter and a finisher or like many folks a starter who doesn't finish? If you're the later then PLANTOBER is for you!
Week 1 continued: Basic plot & synopsis, 3 characters & names and title of your book
Week 2: Broaden your synopsis and have a beginning, middle and end. Character sheets and pinterest board if you choose to make one.
Week 3: Beat sheet, character plot points
Week 4: Time management, 5 points (traditional story arch... Exposition, rising action etc. Chapter Planning
Week 5: Wow it's already November! Get writing : )
